Anthropomorphic and Anamorphic VINTAGE GREETING CARDS ......HUH?

this fancy anthropomorphic egghead woman is circa 1950s and the artist has incorporated a "Dashe" hat (referring to famous hat designer Lilly Dache)

anthropomorphic:
adj. suggesting human characteristics for animals or inanimate things

anamorphic:
adj. pertaining to gradual evolution from one type of organism to another

So.....take an animal or any non-human, inanimate object.......throw in a couple of uniquely human characteristics.....and voila!

Anthropomorphism has deep cultural roots and examples can be found in everything from arts and literature to religion and pop culture. Anthropomorphic characters capture the imagination and put a twist on reality. From Aesop's fables to Miss Piggy and talking M&Ms these fantasy images and characters speak to our imagination.
Many collectors cherish these creative images and will focus their searches for "anthropomorphic" and "anamorphic" treasures!
