I've been going to the Extravaganza's for about 20 years now. This was the smallest ever and, probably, the least attended. My husband said he heard dealers crabbing about their sales. But, there were lots of people pulling carts that were full to the brim. Ours was almost full by the time we left seven hours after we got there!
There were more professional dealers there than the guys who bring in the boxes of stuff you have to paw thru to see what's in it. I LOVE those guys but, they were sadl… Continue

Road Trips well what can I say other then my boyfriend and I are the kind of obsessed with them. In the last year we have driven to the Figure Lakes in New Year State where we drank some great local wine, made our way to Providence, R.I. for a nice weekend get away by the sea, spent the new year in Boston and went to New York in the fall to see the leaves change color in Central Park.
Well, the woman who contacted me about my "Vampirella" comics never got back to me, so I went ahead and got them listed this weekend. Feel free to head over to my shop to take a peek!
I have 6 issues from the 1970s in very good shape. A couple have issues, which I have described for my buyers (I may go back and add photos of the issues later,) but for the most part, these comics look great!
I'm happy to sell things like this and the Conan book, because along with all of my other interes… Continue

For years I have collected jars of buttons from estate sales. Going through the jars of buttons is like digging for treasure! When I was a child my mom had a large tin filled with buttons. My sisters and friends would spend rainy days sorting them and stringing them into beautiful necklaces and bracelets. Wonderful memories created from simple objects. That is why I cannot pass by a jar or bag of buttons, without wanting to spill them out and look them over. I have posted a few pictures of our e… Continue

Antique Jewelry - The Victorian Era
Most People, especially collectors and dealers, are interested to some degree in old jewelry. And a favorite time in history for romance and jewelry was the Victorian era.
Queen Victoria ascended to the throne in 1837 and the world was about to change with the Queens reign and the Industrial Revolution. The romance and wedding of Queen Victoria to Prince Albert in 1841 took on a new interest in sentimental and romantic jewelry. Victoria's engagement ring from… Continue

We love to go vintage shopping and the best part, for us, is the research! When we find something and have a gut feeling about it, we purchase it. The fun part is finding out what it is and how it was used. When we research items we are amazed at the creative spirit that is imbedded in the object! Cal’s favorites are Milk Glass, Pressed glass and Fire King glassware. I love the jewelry, books, kitchen stuff, holiday, paper items and “I can’t believe you bought that”! I love to see the creative s… Continue

After months of neglect, I've finally spiffed up my Blogspot blog, and I've actually added a new post today.
It's about my love for silhouettes. I can't say it's an educational post because I really don't include anything about the history of silhouettes. I'm just showing examples of different kinds.… Continue
I have been going into the Etsy chat room and having so much fun chatting with fellow members from The Vintage Village, as well as other vintage loving people who pop in. I have gotten to know some of you, and we have really had some great chats. Not only are the chats fun, but also informative. It's a nice mix of both actually. I even had a sale through one of the chats which is always nice.
Please note, anyone can start this chat. Use the title "Vintage Village Love" and they will find you :)… Continue

I've owned a wonderful gents old derby hat for several years. It came from a local estate and is nothing extraordinarily special. Everyone has seen "grandpa's derby", right? But since it's Halloween costume time and I am gleaning my collection, I decided to prep it for online selling. As I was going over the details and specs, I could just sense there was more behind the hat. Because it was a local region hatter, I researched him a bit. Well, 2 hrs later (time flies on the net) and lots o… Continue

There are so many reasons to love Freecycle: ease of keeping unwanted items out of landfills; meeting our neighbors--sometimes, even making friends; convenience (mostly); saving money when times are tough. What I love most about Freecycle, however, is the other things that sometimes happen.
I posted to one of my Freecycle lists this morning (I am on 2 of them,) stating that I am looking for comic book sleeves. I have a bunch of comic books that I've priced and I'm now ready to put up for… Continue
Hi!
It sure has been a while since I've posted ~ where does the time go? I am excited because I've listed some awesome vintage finds on my site www.rmeboutique.com. Additionally, I've actually changed my name from RME Bath & Body Shop to RME Boutique. I feel like the new name better represents all that I love and sell!
I promise to be back shortly!
Hugs,
